Adam Taylor
Head Coach

Adam joined Camden Swiss Cottage as Head Coach in December 2017 moving from the Head Coach role at Team Luton.

Adam began his coaching career at Newcastle Staffs Swimming Club in 2009 before joining City of Birmingham Swimming Club as Head National Age Group Coach between 2010-2016. Adam has a track record of producing National Champions that have gone on to qualify for multiple International teams all the way through to Senior World Championship and Olympic level. 

In 2016 Adam was a Coach on the British Swimming National Junior Camp and a year later he was appointed as a Coach on the England Team for the Marseille Golden Tour Meet. He has been selected as a member of the coaching staff for the England Talent Programme every year since 2011 and has recently completed a mentoring programme for coaches.

Adam is passionate about swimming and is committed to maximising the potential of athletes at all levels. Swimmer development is at the heart of everything he does and his approach combines in-depth technical knowledge with fostering strong relationships with his swimmers.

For his sins Adam is an avid West Bromwich Albion supporter & tries to attend as many games as the swimming calendar will allow!

Kylie Bland
Lead Coach - Performance Silver

Kylie started swimming with Camden Swiss Cottage at the age of seven. A breaststroke specialist, she was a County and Regional champion for a number of years.

Kylie began teaching swimming at the age of 16 and by 19 was assisting with different squads throughout the club. In 2006 she began coaching with Swiss Cottage Development Squad and she became Lead Coach for Highgate Development Squad in 2011. She began her current role, as Lead Coach of the Performance Silver Squad, in 2020.

Tom Watson
Team Manager and Lead Coach - Performance Bronze

Tom started swim teaching and coaching at the age of 15 with his local club Thirsk White Horse, where he was Club Captain. Upon coming back from university he became Chairman and was one of the primary coaches.

Tom moved to London in 2013 to complete a Masters degree in Political Science and started working for Camden Swiss Cottage with the Development and Club squads. Tom then progressed to working as Team Manager and now serves as Lead Coach of the Performance Bronze Squad.

Michelle McCarthy
Lead Coach - Academy Programme & Development Bronze

Michelle became the Lead Development Coach at Swiss Cottage in September 2013 having moved across from The Bridge Development squad. Michelle has worked at the club for many years as both a teacher and coach. She has been involved in competitive swimming since 2005 as a fully qualified ASA Coach, Teacher and Team Manager. Michelle swam competitively as a child and has also competed as a Masters swimmer.

Tom Brommage
Lead Coach - Competitive Silver & Gold and Performance Bronze/Silver Assistant Coach

Tom began teaching and coaching swimming at 16, starting as a volunteer for his local club.

In 2017 Tom joined Camden as an Assistant Coach for Performance Bronze and Performance Silver, and, shortly thereafter, was also appointed as Lead Coach for the Development Silver and Development Gold Squads.

Tom is now the Lead Coach for the Competitive Silver and Competitive Gold Squads and currently pursuing a Level 3 coaching qualification.

James Dill
Lead Development Silver & Gold Coach

 

Dariusz Kadziak
Lead Masters Coach

Dariusz started swimming and playing water polo at an early age. He played and swam at many different levels ranging from youth leagues and university to representing his country as a junior and senior at the European Championships in Water Polo.

At present Dariusz is also Head of Aquatics at the Highgate School were he teaches swimming, water polo and synchronised swimming across the whole foundation. He is also a London Regional U14 water polo coach for both boys and girls.

As a Level 3 coach, Dariusz’s goals are to formulate training programmes, provide coaching, support and teach others valuable sporting skills while also developing his own knowledge of coaching. Working with the coaching team and masters swimmers at CSCSC helps Dariusz understand more the individual needs of every swimmer and also helps his aim to also learn more about different disciplines in aquatics such as open water and triathlon.

 

 Neil Mackenzie Matthews
Assistant Coach - Academy Programme & Development Bronze

Neil swam competitively from the age of 9 for several clubs, including Camden Swiss Cottage and Bethnal Green. He also swam in the Middlesex County and Southern Counties squads, until having to stop due to illness with glandular fever at the age of 14 (having just missed Nationals by .03, much to his coach's dismay!).

Neil returned to swimming at London University, and swam his last competitive gala at the Jubilee Games in 1977. He started teaching and coaching at Camden Swiss Cottage in 2009 to help out whilst his daughter swam with the club.

Sam Addington
Assistant Coach

 

James Slade
Assistant Coach

James swam for CSCSC from 2008-18, qualifing for Regionals, Nationals and British Championships. In 2016, James started teaching for the club whilst studying at University of East London, eventually leaving the club and moving onto University of South Wales to finish his studies - where he started playing water polo in the absence of a swimming team. James continued to play water polo at university before returning to London.

In 2023, James qualified as an Assistant Coach and as a result of his knowledge and experience (along with his historcial experience at CSCSC), he started regularly coaching the Masters squad and continues to work with and support other pathways at the club.

Clara Gelera
Assistant Coach

Clara has been teaching swimming since 2014 and expanded her knowledge and experience working with a variety of people: from babies to adults, from school groups to private lessons.
 
She Camden masters swimming club as a swimmer at the beginning of 2022 (and still currently trains and compete for the club) to learn more about swim training in order to become a  Coach. Completing the Level 1 Assistant Coach in 2023, she joined the coaching team in September 2023 where she continues her journey to became a fully qualified coach.
 
Although Clara doesn’t have competitive swimming background she has a profound love and passion for the sport and development of young athletes. 
 

Eugenie Hinton
Assistant Coach

Eugénie started swimming at an early age at her local club in the South of France. A specialist of the 800m and 1500m freestyle, she competed at National level for a number of years. After her A Levels, Eugénie was recruited and granted a full-scholarship by a Division 1 university in the United States. She competed in the NCAA’s Mid-American Conference for the duration of her BA and was awarded the Academic All-MAC honours in her senior year. In 2008 Eugénie moved to London to complete a MSc in Political Science.  

 

She joined the Camden Swiss Cottage Coaching team in 2023 and enjoys sharing her enthusiasm for the sport with swimmers of all ability.

 

CJ Kerr
Assistant Coach
