CSCSC Learn to Swim Programme 2023-24

& 2024-25 Save the Date Information

 

All swimming lessons run until 13/14 July 2024. 

There are NO closures / cancellations due to May Bank Holidays / Half Term.

Priority Registration for the 2024-25 season, members can register from 12pm on Wednesday 10 July 2024. Only current, active members will have access to the priority booking window.

General Registration for the 2024-25 season, general registration will open at 12pm on Wednesday 17 July 2024. New swimmers or current member's siblings new to lessons will be able to access registration at this time.

 

Lessons Schedule will operate at the same times: Saturday at ASL from 13:45-15:45, Sunday at ASL from 13:45-15:45 and Sunday at Mallinson from 13:00-16:00. Stage 1-5 is primarily taught at ASL whilst Stages 6-8 at Mallinson. Specific lesson times will be confirmed when the registration window opens. 

 

What Stage? For current swimmers, the Stages Co-ordinator will communicate between 1-9 July 2024 the stage you should register your swimmer into for the 2024-25 season. For new swimmers, please refer to the Swim England Stage 1-7 Award Outcomes. Kindly note we do not provide trial lessons/assessments and need to determine the ‘best fit’ stage for your swimmer based on their swimming experience.

 

2023-24 Costs: £7 annual membership fee (charged at the point of registration)

£31/lesson at Mallinson Pool (45min lessons) 

£24/lesson at ASL Pool (30min lessons)

Lesson fees are charged on the 1st day of the month, from 1 September 2023 until 1 July 2024, the fees charged to the card on your account reflect the number of lessons in the respective calendar month.

 

Important Dates: Lessons commence on the weekend of 9/10 September 2023 and continue until 13/14 July 2024. We do not take breaks/close over the school half term/term holidays with the exception of: Christmas, New Year & Easter weekends as the pool are closed. 

 

Assessments: Any teacher assessments or movements recommended by the Stages Co-ordinator will be communicated to parents at the end of every half term (approx. 6-7 weeks). Swimmers moving from Stage 5 at ASL to Stage 6 will have to change pools (to Mallinson) in order to continue swimming in the programme. Due to the constricted lesson times and limited programme offering, CSCSC reserves the right to recommend members to alternative programmes if a swimmer has not been moved within a half term. 

 

Cancellations/Closures/Catch-ups: If CSCSC cancels lessons, affected member accounts will be credited for cancelled lessons. As CSCSC does not operate the pools it hires, if the pool closes, we will communicate this as soon as the club is notified of the pool closure and again, affected member accounts will be credited. As our programme has consistently been operating at capacity we are unable to accommodate catch-up/make up lessons for absent swimmers.

 

Leaving the CSCSC Lessons Programme? In line with the Club’s Constitution, all members are required to give 1 month notice to cancel, this must be communicated in writing to the CSCSC Office Manager. Your cancellation email will be confirmed and your swimmer may continue to access lessons until the end of the notice period.

 

More Questions or Need to get in Touch? Please note that our large club has a tiny team operating it behind the scenes, therefore we endeavour to provide necessary information on the CSCSC website (including our email addresses) and through club comms to enable members to manage their accounts and activities at the club. The website is updated as required to ensure necessary information is at the member's disposal and may be referenced in communicaton.

Our lessons adminstration is managed by an admin team of two whom have allocated admin hours, not exclusive to the Learn to Swim programme. As a result, we cannot operate a phone line at CSCSC - please do not contact the pools we hire as they cannot assist. At times there may be a delay in replying to email queries due to the demands of the club, working hours, or responsibilities beyond roles at CSCSC.
