General Registration will open at 12pm on Monday 14 July 2025. New swimmers, waitlist swimmers and current member's siblings new to lessons will be able to access registration at this time.
2025-26 Lessons Offer
Specific lesson times will be confirmed when the registration window opens however we will not be able to confirm or accommodate teacher requests. Teachers are allocated at a later date, at the discretion of the Stages Co-ordinator.
American School in London (ASL)
Stages 1-5 are taught every Saturday & Sunday between 13:45 - 15:45.
The age range for this offer is 4-10yrs. Swimmers may join swimming lessons the month they turn 4yrs. Swimmers up to 10yrs* (as of 30 June 2026) are eligible to access this programme.
Swimmers who successfully complete the stages available at ASL will be required to move onto lessons at Mallinson to pursue the higher stages (e.g. a swimmer who completes stage 5 must change to Mallinson to access stage 6 - subject to meeting the age eligibility).
Mallinson Sports Centre (Highgate School)
Stages 5-8 are taught every Sunday between 13:00 - 16:00.
Swimmers up to 10yrs* (as of 30 June 2026) are eligible to access Stage 5 whilst swimmers up to 12yrs* (as of 30 June 2026) are eligible to access Stages 6-8.
*Swimmers must be under the upper age limit by 30 June 2026 to be able to register into the programme (e.g. swimmers may not be/turn 10 or 12 during the 2025/26 season). The upper age restrictions needed to be introduced in the 2025-26 season. This decision has not been taken lightly, we acknowledge this may be disappointing.
What Stage? For current swimmers, between 1-7 July 2025, the Stages Co-ordinator will communicate the stage you should register your swimmer into for the 2025-26 season. There is no right of appeal. Swimmers will all be carefully observed in September and should there be any changes, this will be communicated.
With over 300 swimmers in the programme, we thank you in advance for your patience and only ask you to follow up on 8 July 2025 if there is no email in your inbox or junk/spam folder.
For new swimmers, please refer to the Swim England Stage 1-7 Award Outcomes.
Kindly note we do not provide trial lessons/assessments and need to determine the ‘best fit’ stage for your swimmer based on their swimming experience. We will be offering a ‘cooling off period’ within the calendar month a swimmer is registered.
2025-26 Lesson Fees:
£5 annual membership fee (charged at the point of registration)
£27 / 30min lesson (Stages 1-5)
£34 / 45min lesson (Stages 6-8)
Lesson fees are charged from the first lesson in September 2025 and then monthly until 1 July 2026, the fees charged to the card on your account reflect the number of lessons in the respective calendar month. Should the payment attempt fail, you will be notified by email so you can rectify the matter prior to payment sweeping facility re-attempt payment the next day.
Any account with an outstanding balance on the 3rd banking day (of the month) will be invoiced and charged a £5/swimmer administration fee. Should the account not be brought back up to date by the 15th of the calendar month, will result in the account being suspended. The swimmer(s) will be removed from the programme, with no access to lessons. In line with this agreement, CSCSC will continue to attempt to collect unpaid fees.
You’re committing to the lessons programme for the season, not termly, if you need to cancel before the end of the programme, see the cancellation instructions below and throughout the CSCSC website.
Important Dates: Lessons will commence on the weekend of 6/7 September 2025 and continue until 11/12 July 2026. We do not take breaks/close over the school half term/term holidays with the exception of: Christmas, New Year & Easter weekends as the pools are closed.
Assessments: Any teacher assessments or movements recommended by the Stages Co-ordinator will be communicated to parents at the end of every half term (approx. 6-7 weeks). Swimmers moving from Stage 5 at ASL to Stage 6 will have to change pools (to Mallinson) in order to continue swimming in the programme.
Due to the constricted lesson times and limited programme, CSCSC reserves the right to recommend members to alternative programmes and/or withdraw a swimmer from CSCSC if a swimmer has not been moved to an appropriate offer within a half term.
Cancellations/Closures/Catch-ups: If CSCSC cancels lessons, affected member accounts will be credited for cancelled lessons. As CSCSC does not operate the pools it hires, if the pool closes, we will communicate this as soon as the club is notified of the pool closure and again, affected member accounts will be credited. As our programme has consistently been operating at capacity we are unable to accommodate catch-up/make up lessons for absent swimmers.
Leaving the CSCSC Lessons Programme? In line with the Club’s Constitution, all members are required to give 1 month notice to cancel, this must be communicated in writing to the Club Administrator only. The Stages Co-ordinator and/or CSCSC Teachers will not communicate any cancellation notice.
Your cancellation email will be confirmed, reasons for leaving/feedback will be requested and your swimmer may continue to access lessons until the end of the notice period. Should you decide to withdraw your request to cancel and keep your swimmer in the CSCSC lessons programme, your account will incur a £5 administrative fee.
More Questions or Need to get in Touch? The Learn to Swim section of the CSCSC website is updated regularly to ensure necessary information is at the member's disposal.
The Stages Co-ordinator maintains an auto-reply message to answer/signpost members to a majority of the FAQs. If your query is answered in this auto-reply, do not expect a response.
The Learn to Swim Programme is primarily managed by the Stages Co-ordinator and the Club Administrator. They have respective areas of responsibility within CSCSC that are not exclusive to the L2S programme. Both have contracted administration hours when queries will be responded to upon receipt and prioritised based on the needs of the club and the programme. Additionally, they have the right to disconnect.
Please do not contact the pools we hire as our small team is not based at these locations and the school you’re contacting cannot assist you. Again, we thank you for your patience and consideration.
